It’s a great article and contains some great tips that you can use to help cultivate a growth mindset in your family.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”why is growth mindset important?” font_container=”tag:h4|text_align:left|color:%23ce879f” google_fonts=”font_family:Oswald%3A300%2Cregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]For those of you unfamiliar with growth mindset then we would recommend watching the video we’ve embedded which explains the experiment that Carol Dweck did, that started off this whole ‘growth mindset’ thing.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_raw_html]JTNDaWZyYW1lJTIwd2lkdGglM0QlMjIzNTIlMjIlMjBoZWlnaHQlM0QlMjIyMTUlMjIlMjBzcmMlM0QlMjJodHRwcyUzQSUyRiUyRnd3dy55b3V0dWJlLmNvbSUyRmVtYmVkJTJGTld2MVZkRGVvUlklM0ZyZWwlM0QwJTIyJTIwZnJhbWVib3JkZXIlM0QlMjIwJTIyJTIwYWxsb3dmdWxsc2NyZWVuJTNFJTNDJTJGaWZyYW1lJTNF[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]From a lifehacksforkids¬†perspective having a growth mindset is incredibly important as it means that our kids believe that they can learn, improve, grow and change, that failure is not an outcome but, rather just a stopping point on the journey to success.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”so how to teach our kids?” font_container=”tag:h4|text_align:left|color:%23ce879f” google_fonts=”font_family:Oswald%3A300%2Cregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]We like the first learning point in the article, namely ‘We made our own growth visible’. Our children learn so much from us so the logical place to start is from within, lead from the front.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_custom_heading text=”the exercise” font_container=”tag:h4|text_align:left|color:%23ce879f” google_fonts=”font_family:Oswald%3A300%2Cregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]So today it’s a quick and simple daily hack, just make sure that once a day, maybe as you are putting the kids to bed, you say:

you know what I learned today?

This one simple question actually does three things:

  1. it forces you to come up with something that you actually learned that day- a healthy exercise even for us cynical, world-weary parents

  2. it shows your kids, that you are learning too, you aren’t perfect, you don’t have all the answers and learning is a lifelong activity

  3. it then gives you the opportunity and permission to ask them, they then have to come up with something that they learned

This final point is important too as it ties in nicely with Daily Hack 4.[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”the daily lifehack summary” font_container=”tag:h4|text_align:left|color:%23ce879f” google_fonts=”font_family:Oswald%3A300%2Cregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1465394515730{border-top-width: 3px !important;border-right-width: 3px !important;border-bottom-width: 3px !important;border-left-width: 3px !important;padding-top: 40px !important;padding-right: 40px !important;padding-bottom: 40px !important;padding-left: 40px !important;background-color: #ce879f !important;border-left-color: #58646d !important;border-left-style: solid !important;border-right-color: #58646d !important;border-right-style: solid !important;border-top-color: #58646d !important;border-top-style: solid !important;border-bottom-color: #58646d !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}”]

Cultivate a family growth mindset with one simple question:

you know what I learned today?
