day 7: review the week

Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.

-Benjamin Franklin

the weekly review

We take some time at the end of each week to do a little review: we do this for ourselves and for the kids.

We mix it up by doing different things each week and we make sure that it's fun and super easy to do.

Research shows that it's really important to chart your progress, no matter how small it might be, it helps you feel good and be more positive and motivated for the week ahead.

So, here are your review activities for this week.

the weekly review- parents

We like to keep a record of our reviews so we can look back at our progress.

As this is your first week, let's see how you did.

We've devised an evaluation questionnaire that covers all aspects of this 7 day challenge, and we help you see your progression as well highlight areas that you can improve.

the weekly review- the kids

We keep a record of our kids reviews too and we prefer to do this in a notebook which we only use specifically for this. That way the kids have a really lovely memento they can look back on.

Your review activity:

  • Write a note to your child and tell them how impressed with them and how proud of them you have been this week. Use the character strengths praise mechanism you learned on DAY 4. See if you can come up with 2 or 3 examples and explain why you are impressed. Write these down in the kids book and then sit down with them and read it with them. Their little faces will light up. Tell them about this record book and that you will do the same again next week.
