a Boot Camp for your kids
What is the single most important factor in determining how successful your child will be?
what's your answer?
Although important, I.Q. is not the single most important factor. Have another go.
Their education and grades.
Important, especially if they are going to choose a profession but, not the single most important factor- try again.
Their emotional intelligence.
Very important, especially so in a technology driven age but, not the single most important factor- have another pop.
How resilient they are.
Yes, well done! Although we may have given it away slightly in the title :).
According to the research and work of Psychologist Angela Duckworth, the most important factor in determining success (or failure) is not as you might think, talent, skill, education, or luck, but a rather more attainable quality: grit (resilience).
Duckworth’s research found that grit was the common denominator amongst successful people across a whole range of areas from business and spelling bees to elite Army recruitment. She found that grit is a more accurate indicator of future success and happiness than talent or IQ.
What is your plan to teach your kids this vital skill?
teaching our kids to be resilient: the challenge
The research is clear, RESILIENCE is not a 'you either have it or you don't' quality, it can be taught; the problem is, how?
It's not taught in school, instead our kids learn it through a mix of personal experience and by watching us- not an ideal situation!
If we want our kids to develop this skill properly we need to solve 3 challenges:
Most of us are busy enough as it is, we simply don't have the time to teach RESILIENCE to our kids.
You might be pretty resilient, but would you classify yourself as an expert in being RESILIENT?
And then there's the matter of how do we actually teach RESILIENCE to our kids.
At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child's success is the positive involvement of parents.
Jane D. Hull (former politician and educator).
where we come in
Ever since we understood exactly how important being RESILIENT is, we have been working on how we can teach it to our kids.
We've researched proven academic ideas, the latest research, as well as well methods used by 'the best' in fields as diverse as education, psychology and sport.
We have distilled this research into a fun 10-module programme, which we call the Boot Camp.
how the boot camp works
We treat the home as our mini laboratory. What better place for your child to hone their skills before they hit the 'real world' than the the safe and loving environment of the home.
We blend the latest scientific research with proven ideas from successfully resilient people and organisations and turn this into fun lessons that teach your kids how to be RESILIENT.
fail feedback- learn
Practicing what you learn is the BEST way to become excellent. There is no such thing as failure in our lab...ONLY feedback, embracing failure is the pathway to future growth .
where you come in
We've solved the issues of expertise and teaching skills, all you need to do is find the time. Each of the 10 modules will take less than 45mins, and your role is to guide your kids through each one.
It doesn't matter how resilient you are (or aren't), each module comes with full instructions so you are totally prepared.
Your child will learn to be RESILIENT through a mixture of lessons, exercises, games, challenges and real world practice.
still need convincing?
Think about your own life for a second ... where you are today is a result of how well you coped with the challenges and setbacks that life has thrown your way (much more so than your CV or qualifications).
Now just imagine how different your life would be had instead of you having to work it out for yourself, your parents taught you the strategies, attributes and skills you need to be RESILIENT.
And, if they had also helped you to make sense of resilience through your own real life experiences- how much better would that have been?
Obstacles, of course, are developmentally necessary: they teach kids strategy, patience, critical thinking, resilience and resourcefulness.

help to future-proof your child
As algorithms become more adept and “intelligent” the well-paid jobs that were traditionally the preserve of the educated middle class in Law, Accountancy and Banking, are disappearing.
Increased competition for work from a well-educated, networked global workforce mean that our kids will face huge competition for jobs.
By teaching your child RESILIENCE you ensure that your child has the resources and skills they need to stand out from their competition.
What if my child doesn't like it?
No problem, let us know within 30 days and we will refund you 100%.
What if I don't like it?
If (for whatever reason), you wish to cancel, if you do sow within the first 30 days we will refund you in full, no questions asked. Just send us an email.
What support is there?
There is a private Facebook Group for parents to share ideas and experiences, we also can be found in there answering questions. If you have any questions (about anything at all), please email us and we will be very happy to help.
How can I tell that my child is improving?
- You will complete a mini audit of your child's resilience capabilities at the beginning and at the end of the course.
- You will literally see your child being more resilient. Each module has a 'doing' element for your child to practice throughout the week. As your child becomes more competent, their confidence in their powers of resilience will increase.
I have more than one child, can they all do the Boot Camp?
By all means, yes. One Boot Camp purchase can be used per family.
What is your refund policy?
30-day no quibble 100% money back guarantee. If you decide that the Boot Camp is not for you within the first 30-days, we will refund all your money.
What age of child is it for?
We recommend from age 7 onwards... it's good for big kids (adults) too!!!
How much work is involved?
Each module is designed to last 45 minutes or less.
We recommend that you sit down and help your child do the module as like anything with kids, the more effort you put in the more they'll get out.
And, if your resilience could do with a boost, then this will help you too.
I'm not very resilient is that a problem?
Nope, in fact you could join in and get a nice resilience boost yourself!
My child is difficult to motivate as it is, how can I get them to do this?
That's a tricky one, we suggest sitting down as a family and doing the free module together. Once kids see the benefit in something (and have fun), they generally want to get involved. Failing that, why not check out our resilience You Tube channel, videos are a nice way for kids to learn and your child might just begin to see how doing this is important.
Who are you?
We are parents too (10-year-old twins).
We realised that success in life is more than just qualifications and a good CV, and yet this is all that parents and schools seem to focus on.
So we started out by trying to teach our twins life skills in a deliberate and structured way.
Our initial research told us that other parents were worried that their kids weren’t getting this type of education either, so we created Lifehacksforkids to fulfil that need.
After 2 years of researching, we devised this RESILIENCE BOOT CAMP, as parents told us that Resilience was the most important quality that they wanted their kids to have.
You can read more about us here.
How do I access the modules?
Each week we will email a new module. You will always have access to them and can do them in your own time.
What if I miss a week?
No problem, just pick up the lesson when you can it will be waiting for you in your inbox when you are ready.
How will I fit this in to my already busy schedule?
It's 45 minutes out of your entire week. I know I waste 45 minutes a day on social media!!!
Set 45 minutes aside each week, same day, same time, just as you would do with any other class. It'll become routine in no time. Plus it's 10 weeks... not forever.
