I’m feeling (insert feeling here), and that’s ok.

For example:

I’m feeling angry, and that’s ok.

Our emotions can cloud our thinking.

So, the next Superhero step is to create some inner space around the emotion that you are feeling.

Here you have 3 options, why not try ALL 3 and see which one you prefer?

REMEMBER:

It doesn’t matter how you feel right now, the feeling will pass. Can you think of a time in your past when you felt angry or upset… how do you feel about it now? Hopefully, the feeling has disappeared in time and you are left with just a memory. REMEMBER, what you are feeling now will also pass.

BREATHE:

Breathing is a great way to feel calm again. Breathe IN deeply (make sure your tummy moves) and breathe OUT fully (so your tummy is flat again). Do this 3 times and notice how calm you feel afterwards.

COUNT:

Count slowly to 10 inside your head, or outloud if you prefer. THINK:

Are your thoughts getting in the way? Can you change what you think to get a better outcome?

SAY:

What can you say, either to yourself or someone else, that will make the situation better?

DO:
